We stayed at the Kim Tho hotel in Can Tho and had a great experience. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff was fantastic. They could not have been any nicer. I was thrilled to see the hotel also had started offering massage. I am sad to say, it was the worst massage I ever had. I bought 2 tickets as I wanted a 1. In addition to the massage being horrible, it was only 1 hour - I actually was getting ready to tell the girl to stop.
I just couldn't take any more. Nobody spoke any English so I wasn't able to communicate the problem with the massage, or with the time. And, when I got up and started walking away, the girl said multiple times - ma'am, tip!! I'm happy to tip when someone does at least decent job, but I wasn't about to tip for this! The next day, we spotted another pace a block away and I decided I'd give it another go. The place is called Beauty Salon Paul. The owner is the one who did the massage.
I didn't get her name, but she said she named the Salon after her son "Paul". I would go back in a heartbeat If you are at the Kim Tho hotel. Walk out and turn left. I am glad that you liked Kim Tho hotel which I booked for you. They offered you upgraded to Deluxe room. I am so sorry to hear that you are stuck in Rach Gia , here are some places you should visit. Dedicated to Rach Gia's favourite martyr, this temple is set a short walk from town.
The main attraction is the bust of Nguyen Trung Truc, which stands out the front. There's a small English-language explanation of his undertakings inside the pagoda. He led attacks against the French in the mid 19th century and despite repeated attempts to capture him, the French never quite managed it.
Eventually they grabbed his mum and a few other citizens and threatened to knock them off if he didn't surrender. Surrender he did, and the French executed him. This small museum on Nguyen Van Troi St was closed when we passed through Rach Gia -- it contains a small selection of wares from the archeological digs at Oc-Eo.
