Disgusting red light area of Fukuoka. Host boys and snack girls come out of the woodwork to peddle flesh after about 4pm.
In the background is " soap-land" with its old hags who will get you off for a fee. Usually over two hundred dollars. Rarely service foreigners who are considered diseased. Pulling the strings not far from anything is the Yakuza and chimpirra. Nakasu is a former prostitution and brothel center of the city. Good place to hunt for great foods.
A bar area where you're apparently not welcome unless Japanese. Bouncers on the door dare you to enter! Nothing to see except for lists of the various girly bars on the numerous floors. Luckily, if you find yourself here at night, there is a quite beautiful canal walk and I've added some pictures to tempt you there - rather than the unwelcoming bars.
This place is known for the "Yatai," which means vendors of snacks e. It may be common in Chinese societies but exceptional in Japan. However, the size is the Yatai area is rather small. There are only 10 vendors or so in total. Walk from the canal to Buyetian can spend hours. There are a lot of street stall beside the canal but careful attention to the price, the food is not the best.
