For most of the movie, Suzie Wong wears a knee length, tight fitting, New Look silhouette cheongsam with cap sleeves and a tall collar, and her costumes are all pretty well made.
She also wears a lot of stiletto high heels which are true to the period. The round corners were not very common in the 50s and 60s but definitely acceptable. Even when the skirt of the cheongsam was very tight in the 50s and 60s, the slits on most cheongsam did not reach above the middle of the thighs.
It makes sense for the character because I think Suzie is a sex worker in the movie? The legs are more visible in this scene.
